The Lab

The Fit Lab

COSMO Fit Lab, unique to Denver orthopaedic surgery clinics, is a dedicated exercise testing space using motion capture technology to optimize both injury prevention and injury recovery.  The Fit Lab Features a 3D functional movement assessment system, to identify risk of injury based on compensatory movement patterns and movement dysfunction.

Prevention and Performance

This 3D functional movement screening technology gives high-level athletes and weekend warriors alike the insight necessary to avoid injuries to which they might otherwise be susceptible. COSMO physicians and trainers analyze the data, then communicate recommendations to the patient, as well as directly to a fitness coach in the event the patient is working with a trainer. Of note, preventative testing is not covered by insurance.

“Exercise testing with Dr. Logan at COSMO was one of the best experiences and decisions I’ve ever made. The testing made me aware of areas I needed to focus on for career longevity, injury prevention and overall physical health. Without the testing I’m confident I wouldn’t have made as many positive changes to my functional movements, as well as showing me tangible data of my progress over time. And I think the testing is pretty fun!” – Trevor Baptiste, Professional Lacrosse Player and member of Team USA

Rehabilitation

For post-operative patients The Fit Lab is used as appropriate to track recovery progress and to identify areas that need continued attention. This type of analysis provides objective, video-based analysis of rehab programming recommendations. These recommendations are shared with your physical therapist or trainer, providing a comprehensive continuum of care. If you do not have a therapist or trainer we can find the best fit for you as COSMO has independently vetted a select list of providers across the Denver metro area.

For general inquiries, please contact our office. All exercise testing related to an injury requires an initial consultation with one of our physicians.
